  • We’ll start off with an introduction to get to know each other and a gear check, and then we will get into a warm up. This is important for us to see where you are at with your biking and for you to get into the flow of riding! From there we’ll focus on one or two skills and spend some time practising these skills, and then implementing it on the trail. We’ll finishing off the session by embedding it into your normal riding and sometimes even set some ‘homework’ to work on in your own time!

  • We expect everyone to have a cycle specific helmet and covered shoes. We also recommend adding kneepads for that added comfort!

    If heading into black/advanced terrain, a full face helmet is recommended.

  • Make sure you bring appropriate clothing for the weather, and include a spare layer if it’s a bit chilly! The sessions are normally a bit slower paced than heading out on a ride by yourself as we break down techniques and practice sections of track.

    It’s also always helpful to bring a snack and some water to keep those energy levels topped up!

    Of course don’t forget your bike! So we reduce the risk of needing to carry out bike repairs through the session, it’s a good idea for you to do your own checks of you bike before coming. This guide is a great place to start if you’re not sure what this involves

  • Unfortunately rain isn’t friendly to the tracks here in Christchurch and we will need to reschedule to avoid damaging the trails. We will be in contact the morning of your lesson to reschedule or come up with another plan!

  • Uplifts are not included. Most of our locations are not able to be uplifted or shuttled. Some pedaling is expected but we aim to do our best to get the most out of trail sections without undue pedaling.
